Maddie's Fund® invests its resources in a commitment to keeping pets and people together, creating a safety net of care for animals in need and operating within a culture of inclusiveness and humility. We are working towards the day when the animal welfare field more accurately represents the diversity of our country.

We introduced a new grant opportunity to support the operations of U.S.-based Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)-led government agencies or nonprofit animal welfare or veterinary medicine organizations. Our focus was on organizations who primarily deal with dogs and/or cats and/or their people.

This $1 million grant opportunity was intended to provide operating support to qualifying organizations. Grants ranged from $5,000 to $50,000 depending on community size, organization size and demographics and impact the organization has in their community.

Please help us congratulate the following grant recipients!

    A Note For Our Grantees:
Thanks to all the grantees of the BIPOC-Led Operating Support opportunity for joining us for Zoom Huddles. Many have expressed interest in staying connected with one another, so we've created this discussion post for just that! Participation is completely optional, but please feel free to introduce yourselves and share some of the great things you were able to accomplish with this grant and any other success stories you shared during the Zoom Huddles!

FIRST… let me start by saying THANK YOU sooooo much for your support! This year I was my most busiest year yet! Im so grateful!!! I able to host a Christmas with Santa  Brunch Event at Rolling Bend Day Care Center located right here in downtown Atlanta! 38 Children where able to bring their parents and pick out Christmas toys, receive brunch and pet supplies donated by The Atlanta Humane Society! On December 3, 2022 I participated in a Christmas Parade featuring a Thank You to Care for Equity and Maddie's fund! We where able to give out 30 gift bags (15cat bags and 15dog bags) filled with community info, pet toys, and treats . It rained on us but we still stayed. It was refreshing lol. I gave a donation to a local Black Cowboy, Brannu Horse. He was able to purchase premium hay and feed, fresh fruit and veggies for his beautiful babies (horses)!  On Christmas Eve I partnered with The Black Women Lab, U.Y.A.C., WestCare Atlanta, Derrick Boazman and a few more people and organizations (that I can not remember, my apologies) to sing Christmas Carols at selected homes -and rewarded with with fruit gift baskets!!! Last but not least we where able to sponsor the end of the year Christmas Black Women Lab at out local Andrew Young YMCA! I was able to purchase ALL of the food, drinks and each woman received a small gift! ( cute cups and chocolate with hot cocoa mix) Please check out my Instagram and Facebook Page to see pictures and videos!!! Amazing ending to this year!!! Me and my mom had a good cry 😮‍💨💪🏾 I have always wanted to support my community and this year I was able to do that and so much more! Thank you for believing in me! I never had so many people cry in my arms because they felt loved! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

We all at Vets To Vets United are so very thankful for the love and support that we have received for our Veterans and their rescue service dogs.  It is blessing see our Veterans, who have sacrificed so much for us, transitioning back into society with dignity. and enjoying life again.  The rescue service dogs have actually prevented several service members from ending their life.  It is wonderful to see these pups living a life filled with love in their loving and forever homes.  Together, we are making a difference by saving one Veteran and one dog at a time.

It was such a pleasure meeting everyone at our virtual meeting.  Congratulations to all and thank you for all that you do to support your communities and beyond.

Enjoy pictures of a few Veteran/service pup teams, supported by Maddie's Fund.  Thank you!!!

Thank you so much!  So honored to be part of this nationwide community of visionary organizations, representing Montana and serving our Salish & Kootenai communities.  The Arlee Rehabilitation Center serves the Flathead Indian Reservation, providing a sanctuary where animals heal people and people heal animals.  We work to bring respite from trauma within our communities.  Our website is www.k9arc.org.   You can connect with us and follow our stories of healing on FB at www.facebook.com/ArleeRehabilitationCenter.

    Thanks to Maddie!

This past year has been a repeated of 2021 with the lack of fosters, volunteers and adopters, however it's also been a great year for us meeting people on the national level and our peers across the nation.

The grant money was a great, as we could use it on a variety of projects.  The networking and learning is invaluable.

When we applied we had little hope of being awarded a grant, we felt like "us little guys never get the money", Maddie's changed that attitude for us

Thank you to @Maddiesfund  for your support! As a BIPOC organization, we have to make the few grants that we receive S-T-R-E-T-C-H. This grant has allowed us to meet pet families at their need. Assisting with the cost of an office visit has made the difference between a pet getting care BEFORE it becomes as crisis. Which goes to prove that "an ounce of prevention, beats a pound of cure"

Thank you so much for the recognition and funds! With our grant, we were able to hire much-needed administrative support. Now we have expanded our outreach and programs to an underserved county (previously out of our reach), started a therapy dog program (which sold out it's classes almost immediately), and started a dog training class for senior citizens (on the books, but we needed a bit of admin support to get over the hump).
