We did not produce them. Our vet gave us bundles of brochures from various pet insurance companies, zoetis (vaccines info), and a pamphlet plus leaflet about the importance of heartworm prevention put out by Proheart 12. If you reach out to your vet or to pharmaceutical/insurance companies you should be able to get some informational handouts for free.
If you microchip, reach out to your microchip provider as well. They typically have pamphlets or printables to give to adopters. Kong also has freebies!

Subject: Does your adoption program currently educate new Pet Guardians about the potential cost of Responsible Annual Pet Care? If yes, how do you accomplish this? If no, would you be interested in providing materials provided by a third party?
Hi Rebecca,
Did your organization produce these brochures yourself, or do you pull them from multiple sources into a single folder and share that way? Wondering if you'd share a package with me?
Thank you in advance for educating me!

We provide a packet to each adopter with pamphlets for pet insurance, heartworm prevention information, etc.

We've considered producing materials to help new pet guardians understand the potential costs associated with pet care, expected annual costs vs unexpected costs. With Vet Care costs on the rise, it's critical that we educate pet guardians to be better prepared for both types of costs through appropriate savings and / or pet insurance. We may be willing to produce these materials if we could leverage Rescue Groups and Shelters to distribute and help us advocate the concepts rather than simply refer pet guardians to non-profits to help pay Vet Bills. We understand that low-income pet guardians will always need help, but there are many working pet owners who are currently caught off-guard that this education could actually make a difference with.
