Hello all! I have a pup that we have had for a LONG time about to be longest at the shelter! I have posted her and posted her but not even a SINGLE person interested! Its getting frustrating as she is a super sweet. Judie is about 3years old she is very obedient and eager to please people; she already knows a few tricks like sit, stay, and look at me! Judie LOVES kids and wants to share with them! She would be best in an only dog home with no kitties! Judie is spayed up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. If out of towners are interested, we can setup a transport for Miss Judie.  IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME REWORD ANYTHING PLEASE!!!

Judie is such a cutie! :)

I'd love to hear more about her behavior toward other dogs and cats that is referenced in this section: "She would be best in an only dog home with no kitties!"

Are you able to post a video on her adoption bio page as well, if she does not have one already?

Im working on a video today that I can upload tonight thanks for the suggestion! Due to being at the shelter for 430 days she has lost socialization. I personally would not trust her with kitties she thinks they might be a snack. For dogs, she seems VERY interested like she wants to be friends but once she gets closer that's when she will start growling. I am more of a cat person, but I am trying to learn about dog training and aggressiveness.

Thanks so much for sharing, Rachel! That's great that you're putting a video together for her! I've seen some pups get their chance to really shine and capture the attention of adopters all because of a video on their page. :)

Best of luck to you both!

Love this video you did! Big booty Judie looks like such a sweetie and I hope this video helps her get the attention she deserves. Also feel free to share any social media posts you've made about her so we can share or see what suggestions can be made to help reword anything.

I wanted to share this link to a blog post by HeARTs Speak about marketing long stay pets that may help generate some additional ideas for you. Things we used to try at my old shelter:

    - Posting videos of our long-timers doing cute things. Videos often show their personality better than pictures.
    - Sending long-timers out into the community with volunteers to get pictures of them in public and in a home. We thought that seeing the dogs in a home would help people picture the dog in their own home.
    - Doing DNA tests. People found the results interesting, especially if something odd showed up.
    - Taking down the dog's postings on adoption sites for a week, then re-uploading with different pictures so people aren't just scrolling past the same post of the same dog forever.
    - Trading one of our long-term resident dogs with a dog in a similar situation at a trusted shelter. Usually both dogs would get adopted reasonably quickly with a change of venue.

Best of luck to this sweetheart!

    Hello!
I also have dogs that are harder to place. I asked a larger rescue two hours away from us if they would consider sharing our dogs and we would share on our social media any of their dogs. It certainly helped get more attention! Even though my target dog did not get placed, two others got adopted. Recently, I have been pushing for day out and short term fosters so the dogs can get the stimulation and get shared on the foster's socials, widening the net, so to speak.
