Sometimes it is necessary to hold a TNR or an unfriendly stray cat for several days or longer before they can be spayed or neutered. I have used for many years now a top opening True Catch transport cage with great success. I will place the top opening transport cage in the kennel the Cat is being kept in several days ahead of spay and neuter appointments. The cat considers it a good place to lie down, especially when it is comfortable with warm bedding and covered. They tend to stay in the transport cage even when I open the door to their kennel. I then simply lift the top up and latch it. Even if the cat isn't in the transport cage when I go to fetch them, it is very easy to coax them back into their little "hiding place". Much less stress on the cat , easier for me and no problem. I've had 100% success doing this with the unfriendly cats that needed to be kept a little longer so that they could be treated for minor injuries, illnesses, before going to clinic.

What a great tip for reducing stress on feral or fearful cats that need to be held for spay/neuter appointments! Thank you for this.
