2023 Open Arms Challenge

When we started outmr pet food pantry, we had to keep things limited to a small area due to the lack of resources.  Access to care has been. a big barrier. We extended an invitation veterinary teaching hospitals to come to our community to help. To my delight we have 27 students that answered the call! 
Remember  that these are up and coming vets! If you are looking to increase the number of vets in your area, invite students to come out to see the need! Plant the seed early, and new vets may grow!

For your pet food pantry, have you tried reaching out to the stores that sell pet food/supplies to see if they have any overstock, seasonal items, things that they get returned but can't resell?  At my last organization,  we had a great partnership with some of the smaller, local pet stores and grocery stores.
