Hello everyone!
My name is Gianna and I am currently a master's student through the UF distance learning program with a concentration in Shelter Medicine. I am doing my capstone project on Feline Leukemia Virus and the impact it has on shelters.
A few general questions I have about your organization:
What organization are you? Where are you located?
What is your policy for testing for FeLV?
What happens when a cat tests positive? Do you do confirmatory testing?
Does your organization have an adoption program for FeLV positive cats? Do they transfer them out? Euthanize?
I was also wondering if anyone working in shelters would have access/be able to share
data regarding your FeLV cats. I am most interested in looking at
outcome data. If your organization does adopt of FeLV positive cats, do you have data about live outcomes from years prior to starting the adoption program?
How do the number of live outcomes compare from before an FeLV adoption program to after?Thank you so much for you input!
