Good morning everyone! I am new to this forum, however, someone who supports my Rescue, Bitten By A Kitten Rescue told me that this would be a great resource for information. With that said, I have a kitten that was recently diagnosed with FIP. Now, I know that the medication is legal here in the US, however, his original vet was very reluctant to put in a prescription for him. I ended up having to get the injectable medication to start him with from another rescue in order to save his life. However, I didn't have enough to continue the treatment and really could not continue on with the injections as they are incredibly painful. As a result, I found myself going out to an emergency vet in my area that is known for dealing with quite a few FIP patients. They were able to prescribe  1 weeks worth of oral medication and I still find myself in the same predicament trying to get a vet to prescribe the remaining amount that he needs. Has anyone run into this sort of a situation before? Since the medication is legal in the US vets should not be so reluctant to prescribe medication that's life-saving for these guys.  I have reached out to FIP world and FIP Warriors. Thankfully, they've been able to help me out a little bit as well, but it is an 84 day treatment program and I need to make sure that he's able to complete it.
