We waive the fee for an adoption. When we are making decisions or challenging our policies we ask ourselves why and visit our mission and values. In our mission and values we talk about supporting the human animal bond, trust, respect, keeping animals in home, stewardship, etc.
Fosters are amazing donors (time not money) the time, energy and effort they put into keeping the puppies in a safe and clean environment should be deeply appreciated. Plus, the shelter environment is simply not conducive to safely caring for vulnerable puppies and kittens.
This is not a judgment statement of others this is how we operate: Our policies and procedures focus on our mission and values and not making money. We frequently, waive adoption, reclaim, drop off, and microchip implant fees. Our goal is to keep animals out of the shelter and that always takes priority. Plus, it saves us money by not housing animals unnecessarily.

I was just wondering what other places do when a foster who had a litter of puppies is interested in adopting one. We still require the animals adoption fee to be paid by the foster, is this common at most places or do you waive their adoption fee.
