Tails That Teach inspires young children to be kind to pets and people. We partner with animal organizations around the world that provide humane education by DONATING our compassion-centered books to use as tools in all humane education efforts including on-site programs, school visits, shelter reading, community events, and adoption packets. Our award-winning books, Love Me Gently; A Kid's Guide for Man's Best Friend, Gray Whiskers; A Kid's Guide for Loved Ones Growing Older, and our Kids Activity Book, are lesson-based that teach responsible pet care, help keep kids safe, and prevent animal cruelty. Kids learn simple lessons such as allowing a dog to eat and sleep uninterrupted, patience in training, gentle handling, and safety around the house for both child and animal. These lessons can be applied to animals of all types so young readers are empowered and encouraged to make good choices, be responsible for their actions, and respectfully care for pets. The books are ideal for ages 5-9 (grades K-3), and available in English and Spanish, and we always provide enough books for every child to take one home!
