    Has anyone purchased or utilizes the Grant Station software.

    I am pondering if it is worth it, or if most of the grants are already listed in places like the HSUS and ASPCA and such.

    I am a small non-profit rescue, although we do a lot, kennel based, but since we work with shelters in the south and bring them up to Maine, there is not any funding in Maine to support the rescue - lots for community programs, which we have set up, but we need help fixing up the kennel building so we can continue to work with the southern shelters.

    thanks in advance.

    Hello,  I have used Grant Station, Grant Gopher and Instrumentl for grant searches.  I would say Grant Station is my least used of these three.  Grant Gopher is great for small non profits.  Instrumentl is more for a bigger organization and it is more expensive, but what I do is partner with other organizations to share in the cost(you can create separate projects).

    Hi Heather,  I got it through my AAWA membership at a discount.  Tech soup is a great resource too.

    HI Stacey

    Since you use Gopher grant more often,  What are the benefit of GG over Grant station?

    Tech soup is offering a good deal on GS

    Do you use each Grant software packets for different  types of grants.

    I appreciate your feedback

    HI Heather;

        I will be honest that I didn't really find GS intuitive for my uses.  I felt that my searches didn't come up with any new viable suggestions.  So I haven't it used it much over the last year.

        Grant Gopher I only use for prospecting(finding new opportunities).  I have alerts sent to me that I can review.  If I see something that I like I will go over to instrumentl and do further research and at it to my project listing for whatever organization it seems appropriate for.

    If anyone wants me to do a quick zoom on this topic I would be happy to run a Q+A session...

    Hey Jenny,

    Have you checked Candid.org?  They have a list of grant-giving organizations by category in their online Foundation Directory. A subscription is needed to access the listing; however, they partner with many public libraries to provide access to their service for free.

    You mentioned the ASPCA already, so you may have seen this, but the ASPCAPro has a pretty comprehensive list of resources.

    All the best,
    Kelly
