I started looking into this after my dog kept having stomach issues. Vet visits were getting expensive and someone mentioned trying some natural options alongside the regular treatment.
Started with a small amount of organic ginger in his food for the nausea and honestly the difference was pretty noticeable. Also tried chamomile tea cooled down and added to his water bowl on stressful days like fireworks or car rides. He seems calmer.
Done a lot of reading since then. Things like nettle leaf are supposed to be good for seasonal allergies in dogs. Burdock root is talked about a lot for skin issues. And milk thistle gets mentioned constantly for liver support especially in older dogs.
Obviously not everything safe for humans is safe for pets so I always double check before trying anything new. Some herbs are actually toxic to dogs and cats so sourcing matters too. Getting it from somewhere that actually knows what they are selling makes a big difference.
Would love to hear if anyone else has gone down this route. What has worked for your pets and what did not work at all?
