Hi to all animal advocates,

My organization, BixRoHorse Haven, Inc., is a sanctuary for horses that are at-risk for slaughter. I give the horses I'm able to save a forever home, thus avoiding the too frequent paradigm in horse rescue of rehab/rehome/back to rescue.  I'm looking for other organizations doing similar work. As a start up with almost a year and 8 horses to my resume, I could really benefit from mentorship, collaboration and even brainstorming.

Hi Cindy, 

We have a similar rescue/sanctuary taking in exotic and farm animals in Florida. Most of the animals that come to us including the horses & ponies will live out their lives here at the sanctuary. We founded our nonprofit in 2017 and have been steadily growing and evolving. Before we started ours, we volunteered for many years at a sanctuary that was founded by dear friends of ours. Their mentorship is something that has helped us over the years.  Even though we are not exclusively a horse rescue I'd be happy to talk to you about what has worked and not worked for us.
