Hello Maddie's community 🐾

My name is Shazia Bano, and I'm the founder of J & S Heaven for Ferals Inc, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Howard Beach, NY.

For more than 15 years, I have been rescuing, feeding, and caring for hundreds of stray and feral cats every single day - over 400 cats at different locations in our community. Many of these cats have been trapped, spayed/neutered, and are under my care at home or in foster settings.

I've done this work entirely out of pocket and with no outside funding. It's getting harder to afford food and medical care, but I can't stop helping them - they depend on me every morning and night.

I recently learned that there are grants and community programs that can help, and I joined Maddie's Pet Forum to seek advice and guidance from others who understand this mission.

🙏 I'd love advice on:

• Finding grants or donations for cat food and medical care

• Connecting with other rescues or TNR programs in New York

• Tips for fundraising or building awareness so more people can help
