We have started doing a few things to start engaging our fosters more. One of the biggest helps has been the foster Facebook group! Our foster volunteers love the Facebook group and use it daily! They post their foster updates and cute stories on their, ask each other questions and give advice. It has been great at getting the fosters together!
We also just started a foster volunteer committee. This committee is made of 8 foster volunteers. The goal of the committee is to include the fosters in foster recruitment, event planning, and foster engagement. We have only had one meeting so far, but they were super excited to be able to be involved in the program more. They had a lot of great ideas for engaging the fosters more. I recommend just talking to your fosters! Ask them what they would like to do, what sort of events or socials would they be interested in? Just doing that has been a huge help for our program!
