  • 1.  How does your shelter do med pass?

    Hi there!

We are looking for alternative ideas on administering medications to our shelter animals. Currently, we are using paper trays (boats) to write the animals ID #, the medication/quantity, filling those trays with the medication wrapped in either hotdog/meatballs of canned food. The trays are handed out to each animal and/or directly hand fed to the animal to ensure they have taken their medication.

We would like to reduce the amount of paper products we are using, and are curious what other organizations use to pass out medications to several animals in their care.

    Thanks in advance!

We use metal mini muffin trays. We write the animals name directly on the tray below the meds.  When we need to remove a name, they come off with alcohol.  The trays can also be washed and disinfected. It's worked great for us.
