For the months of May till now Stray Kitty Rescue Philadelphia PA and Atlantic County NJ has been dealing with extreme heat and rain. We've had to get creative in keeping our shelter cool and dry.
sharing some tips
we brought in outdoor cats that were friendly and let them sit inside in a play pen for most of the day until it became cool.
we used supplements like electrolytes to keep the cats and dogs well hydrated.
applied for several grants for disaster relief- we did not get them but just applying helps make a plan.
we used fans heavily until we were able to get central air
during heavy rains we kept our shed and garage open for the outdoor cats to have shelter
