Maddie's Fund is piloting a new kind of education opportunity where students from a given region take an online, self-paced course and then gather together for a small, one-day, in-person workshop/networking event.
The first event will be hosted at Animal Welfare League of Arlington and will focus on how to build foster care capacity.

Attendees will:

Build lasting networks and relationships

Gain a comprehensive overview of strategies for recruiting foster caregivers

See a big-picture view of animal welfare in the DC area

Learn to how other organizations in the area are managing their foster programs

Identify local challenges and exchange locally relevant resources
This opportunity will include:

A Foster Supply Swap

One-on-one Foster Program Consult with Kelly Duer (optional)

Breakfast and lunch will be provided on the day of the event, and participants will receive a small stipend for gas.

This opportunity is open by invitation and application. It is for regional shelter/rescue staff or volunteers who manage or assist in managing foster care programs for cats and dogs. Up to 40 students will be accepted.
