I created a volunteer passport by asking local businesses to participate by giving volunteers a free or discounted item during volunteer appreciation week. Those who agreed would receive their own paw print stamp and would redeem the offer by stamping the passport. Volunteers were incentivized to participate with a tiered prize system, the more places you visit, the more shelter swag you earn! 

Volunteers and small business are loving this. We have seen a huge uptick in engagement by volunteers on our social media. They are sharing across platforms and tagging the businesses they are visiting. This is creating great positive associations with our shelter, the community, and potential donors and sponsors for other events.

What a great idea! We used to have a smaller, very close-knit volunteer group so thanking them was very different. We have been trying to find a good way to thank our volunteers now that there are more people who we don't know on quite such a personal basis. Thank you!
