For social media we refrain from using any organization logos unless the organization specifically provided us with the marketing material. If you partner with an organization or business, they usually provide specific the graphics for displaying in your material and/or on your website. When in doubt check their website for their copyright and reprint policy. If they do not have one, contact them directly before using.
As far as pictures, I've really never thought about pictures being taken at public events with multiple organizations, but we also do not do many in our area. However, we recently created a disclosure on our adoption back that asks if we have permission to share their adoption photos on our website and another one granting permission to use in future marketing material.

Subject: Legalities of Social Media
I am curious about the legalities of social media in the rescue world.
Are there any attorneys or organizations that have knowledge and can assist in these areas that anyone knows of? With so much reposting and sharing of information as well as pictures being shared I am curious about things like photo releases, animals in pictures from other rescues when at events, and infographics from places like the SPCA. Does anyone have any insight on this?
