If we have animals that are here for a long time, we post them on social media A LOT. Show them in different environments, teach them some fun tricks, get them to go on outings with people, all kinds of things. A lot of times these are also the kinds of animals that we would try to transfer to another shelter, do a swap of long termers to see if a different audience will get them adopted.

I know most shelters and rescues are full and I'm sure we all have dogs and cats that have been long-term residents. I'm curious to what others think is best for those animals that have been in the shelter for over a year and do not get people wanting to adopt them. I'm in no position to make a decision on the outcome of these animals. I am just curious what other facilities do.
