    Hey Yall,

I attended Humane Canada conference this year and  Lindsay Baker ,CVA BC SPCA presented a great session on volunteerism  in Canada.

A few things I found interesting to share:

Prior to the pandemic a large portion of volunteers were born at around 1945. A lot folks from this demographic have not returned therefore  a new generation of volunteers are with us that has changed the way volunteerism is getting done.

New Gen volunteers are interested in volunteering as a family or couple.  Orgs have been pivoting to meet this need with Fostering opportunities.

New Gen volunteers want to see data related to their impact. Orgs have been providing impact summary at the time of clockout.

New Gen volunteer prefer episodic type of experience. Orgs have created microtask or project specific volunteer opportunities.

What volunteer trends, changes and ideas/opportunities have you seen at your organization in the last few years?

Resources shared to inform decision making.
