I am the Director of Marketing for ISTS, a Nashville-based company that manages scholarships and other educational assistance programs. We are administering a new national scholarship for veterinary and veterinary technician students launched just two weeks ago – the ASPCA Veterinary Scholarship Program – and given its scope and mission, I thought it would be good to share with this community.(Here's the official press release.)

Through this initiative. the ASPCA aims to strengthen the veterinary workforce in shelters and nonprofit settings, expand access to veterinary care, and cultivate a community of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of animals. For its inaugural year, the ASPCA will award up to $1 million in scholarships to veterinary and veterinary technician students in AVMA-accredited programs who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence and are committed to working in mission-driven work supporting animals or the animal welfare field after graduation. In addition to scholarship funding, ASPCA Scholars will join a national network offering career opportunities, training and real-world experience across animal welfare organizations, along with connections to peers, mentors and leaders in the field.

For anyone who would like to share this opportunity to help eligible students learn about it and apply, we've created the attached toolkit.

I just applied for Vet Tech school through Penn Foster! I see that this scholarship is now closed, but I hope that there is enough funding and need for it to open up again next year. Thank you for supporting such a needed and necessary field of work in animal welfare!!
