Animal Welfare Professionals

I am constantly seeking ways to enhance knowledge and sharpen my skills by exploring new areas of animal welfare.  Our shelter regularly offered in-person training for our staff and humane officers, but post-pandemic we have not gotten back to some of our usual events.   

Does anyone have any free training resources you find beneficial or would like to share? 

Does your shelter or organization offer trainings that allow employees to earn CE credits?   If so, what are some of the topics you cover?

Hi, Tamara:

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but Maddie's University offers organizations free space on our platform to shelters to design training. You can pull in Maddie's University courses and webcasts, you can link out to other training, and you can upload your own resources. Your learners log in via a URL with your org name in it, and anyone who is a manager of the portal can see who enrolls and completes courses. We also can create training sites for foster caregivers. Here's a sample foster training site and a staff/volunteer professional development site, so you can see what it might look like. All courses and on-demand presentations carry AAWA and NACA CE, and some carry RACE.
