    Hi!

It's fairly common that when we think an animal is scared of something, NOISES are making the problem worse OR are an underlying cause of the problem. If you live in an area with frequent thunderstorms,  I know you know that noise phobias are common and negatively impact our pets' welfare.

We're super lucky to have an amazing international speaker join us to talk about noise fears and phobias, board-certified veterinary behaviorist, Dr. @Lisa Radosta!  Join us for Maddie's Monthly Behavior Connection on Thursday June 27 at noon PT/3 ET.   Learn more here or register for the monthly meeting

    About Maddie's Monthly Behavior Connection:
Join us on the fourth Thursday of every month as we talk about dog and cat behavior - supporting pets in our community and animal shelters. Each month, we hear from speakers about topics of interest to our group, such as behavior medications, modifying animal behavior, assessing and improving animal welfare, and how organizations successfully provide behavior support to dogs and cats.

Who should join: Animal welfare staff and volunteers who are interested in dog and cat behavior, and everyone who works to keep pets out of shelters and in homes.

You only need to register once for all meetings: https://maddies.fund/MonthlyBehaviorRegistration

Thanks to everyone who attended the webcast today! I have updated this thread with the webcast recording and am also including a link to a research article shared during the call:  Generalized fear after acute stress is caused by change in neuronal cotransmitter identity

Please post any additional questions you have for Dr. Radosta (@Lisa Radosta) on this thread. Thanks again for joining us! Hope to see you on next month's webcast. More details to come on that soon.

Thank you for all of the incredible questions you asked during the call. Dr. Radosta took some time after the call to answer the questions in the Q&A that we didn't have time to get to. She recorded her answers in this 13 minute video:

Paws & Peace:  Q&A that weren't answered during the session

If you asked a question during the call that didn't get answered, I encourage you to watch the video.

I'd like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Radosta for taking the time to make sure all questions were answered!
