  • 1.  Reflection on our TNR/AVER Program Event.

    Somebody help me to understand.

I hope this message finds you well. I want to share my thoughts and reflections on our recent TNR/AVER program event in Tri-County, South Carolina.

Leading up to the event, I was filled with positive expectations, armed with valuable information generously provided by many from Maddie's Pet Forum organization. I prepared thoroughly, armed with presentations, handouts, and the excitement of having over 25 people sign up to attend last Saturday.

However, reality did not align with my optimistic anticipation. Unfortunately, only a few individuals showed up. This situation left me feeling embarrassed, especially considering I had requested food, water, and snacks for the event, and I had to ask attendees to take these items home. It was disheartening, and I struggled to comprehend why there was a lack of interest in educating themselves on such a crucial topic.

Adding to the disappointment, I've continued to receive inquiries from people asking for help with their cats in their neighborhoods. While I am always eager to assist, it's disheartening that the interest doesn't seem to extend to proactive involvement in community education.

Despite these challenges, I remain dedicated to our cause and am grateful for the support and information provided by the organization. Moving forward, I believe it's essential to explore new strategies to engage our community actively.

Thank you for your ongoing support and guidance.

    Hi Myriam,

I'm sorry to hear your meeting did not pan out as planned, but as you know if the animal community were to draw conclusions from its efforts of 30 or 40 yrs ago, we would be no where today. We keep banging on the door (sometimes using our heads!) & thru years of persistent patience each individual IS having an cumulative effect. Your work is creating conditions for the change that is happening tho' it may feel glacial at times.

Hang in there & if you haven't registered your organisation w/worldanimal.net do so. It is free to list on its directory & it will help you network w/other animal groups.

    all the best.
