I am currently working to renovate our shelters community cat colony. Right now, it is a large fenced in area with a shed filled with hay and a few feeding stations. It has also been very much ignored by our animal team and we want to change that, and a positive change would be very beneficial.
Can anyone one provide some ideas or share other resources to help this project move in the right direction.
Right now the colony only houses 3 cats, but there is definitely room for quite a bit more. The shelter I work at has limited pathways for cats and I am looking to change that by improving our shelter colony to increase our feline lifesaving numbers.

Hi Adam - you might want to check out what the Humane Society of Silicon Valley has done.  This is a link to their Garden Cat Program  https://www.hssv.org/garden-cats/
They also have this new Kona's Spot in the Sun for people-social cats who prefer an indoor/outdoor living situation.  https://www.hssv.org/blog/konas-spot-in-the-sun-is-open/
I was lucky to be able to tour the first garden (Anderson), but haven't seen the new garden yet but I'm sure it's amazing.
