  • 1.  Successful fundraising idea: Kitten Yoga

I've seen several people asking about fundraising ideas and decided to share a  new idea we tried. Kitten yoga! A local winery donated the space--which was on their beautiful grounds. Our volunteers brought in some of their outgoing foster kittens and stayed to supervise. The day also featured a raffle and the winery held their tastings as usual. Our only cost was $200 for instructors from a yoga studio and some signage. Sign ups and payment for the classes were posted ahead of time and sold through Tock--a reservation system. Altogether this brought in more than $4000. We plan to do it again.

This is amazing.  We did this with puppies and it was successful but not that successful.  But gives us hope to improve

My organization is trying to get a Kitten yoga event up and running.  I don't think it has been done often, so finding useful reference materials has been difficult.  Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

We've hosted Meowmaste Kitten Yoga and it was wildly successful. Recently we've partnered with our local cat cafe, The Biscuit Factory, who is also one of our adoption partners. These event sell out quickly and are great socialization opportunities!

Yes we have done this too on site in our adoption rooms. Someone on the forum coined the term "friendraising" to describe low net income events that provide more public interaction than funds. cat yoga has been that for us. Fun but not a big money maker at least in the low  key way we have done it

What we're you able to charge for other than the class sign up and raffle tickets to bring in 4k? How many participants did you have? Love this idea!

We just did kitten yoga for the first time with our Kitten Shower last week and it was such a huge hit that they're trying to get another one in place just for staff and volunteers to have an opportunity!
