I'm posting here in the hopes that I may recruit for my survey of shelter staff and volunteers regarding cat bonded pairs in the shelter environment.
I'm a current 4th year PhD Candidate at UC Davis, and I primarily study shelter cat behavior and welfare. For my next study I plan to look at how bonded pairs of cats act in the shelter, and while preparing for that I realized that some shelters have different philosophies surrounding how to designate two cats as bonded. I am therefore now asking shelter staff and volunteers to help me by completing this brief, 5-10 minute survey focused on how the shelter makes decisions regarding which cats are designated as a bonded pair.
To participate, you must be:
- 18+ years old
- Staff or volunteer at a US-based shelter or rescue
- Involved in the decision to designate two cats as a bonded pair
For those interested, you can take the survey here. Or feel free to share with anyone you know who may be eligible!
Feel free to respond with any follow up questions, or you can email me at jlink@ucdavis.edu
Thank you so much!
