Yes, we used tablets for adoption counseling and rounds!
We had to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity issues (we were an OLD outdoor facility), but overall, they were incredibly helpful!
Also used them to grab photos/videos of pets in real time for Youtube uploads to show on their adoption profiles.
Helpful apps:
- Email
- Shelter Software - if available
- Bookmarked tabs in browser - such as the shelter SW login page and your org's home page/resource pages
- Youtube - tutorials and to upload pet content
- Video editor - iMovie, etc.
- Google Voice - to text information
- Social media accounts - for general posts, lost/found pet researching, and rescue plea communication
- Customer service waitlist - if available/in use (Waitwhile, etc.)

Subject: Using iPads/Tablets For Adoption Processing
We just recently got the funding to buy iPads for our adoption process. We are planning to use them so that staff and volunteers can look up dogs, including their pictures, bio's, and behavior notes, to relay that information when talking to potential adopters. Has anyone else use tablets this way? We'd love to hear others experiences, and if there were any helpful apps anyone could recommend for this process.
Thank you so much
