    Good Afternoon!

    I am the volunteer coordinator for an animal shelter within our community with approximately 350+ active volunteers. We currently use Volgistics for software management and I use Canvas to help with trainings and google drive to keep track of applications or tutorials and other miscellaneous documents. Right now the back and forth between different programs has been a little hectic and hard to keep straight as far as who has done what and many other difficulties I am starting to uncover as our program grows. We are growing quickly, last year around this time we have 81 active volunteers. As we grow, I would like to find a program/software that does it all. Any recommendations?

    Salesforce CRM (customer relationship management) offers a pro-bono program with up to 10 free licenses to use their software.  The software will have to be customized to your needs, but Salesforce will provide an integrator/tech person who will help you customize it. We use it, and it's great. I think it can handle all that you mentioned except maybe the trainings (not sure what you need for that). Anyway, look into it! I know there are some nonprofit shelters/rescue groups that use Salesforce.

    I would love to learn more about how you use saleesforce.  We are struggling with volunteer/foster management and nurturing.  We run a small foster based rescue in NC and place about 700 dogs a year

    Hey Marisa,

    Wow! That is a lot of volunteers, way to go! 

    Have you looked into Doobert? It has the ability for organizations like yours to have your own dashboard with many modules at your disposal (Case Management, Foster Management, and more) but also allows your volunteers to have their profiles as well where you can add them as fosters, transporters, photographers, etc. 

    Another way you can use Doobert to help with the back-and-forth between programs is to try the Case Management module. You can send out communications, trainings, documents, links, etc. directly from your dashboard. This would help to track all communications between you and each volunteer so nothing gets missed. Plus, creating email and text templates would be a huge help so you didn't have to type things out all the time. 

    If you're interested in learning more, I would be happy to jump on a call with you but either way, I hope you find a software or platform that works for you because it sounds like you've got a lot of great supporters in your community :)
