What resources are you using to move forward with facility upgrades when funding is limited?

    Hi everyone,

I wanted to share something we've been working on that may be helpful for organizations navigating equipment upgrades and facility improvements.

We've been hearing from many shelters and rescue organizations that while large projects are often supported through grants or capital campaigns, smaller refresh and upgrade efforts like housing replacement, treatment area improvements, or adding clinical capabilities-can be harder to move forward.

In response, we recently launched a program called Close the Gap, designed to support equipment refresh and phased upgrade projects.

The intent is to help organizations:

    • Move forward with improvements when funding is coming together in stages
    • Preserve scope instead of scaling projects back
    • Continue investing in environments that support both animal care and staff efficiency

This a structured way to support these types of projects and help organizations keep momentum and wanted to share this here in case it's helpful for your organization or others in your network.

If you're currently working through a refresh or upgrade, I'd be interested to hear:

    • What types of improvements you're prioritizing right now
    • Where you're seeing the biggest challenges in moving projects forward

Happy to share more details if helpful or you can visit midmark.com/closethegap for more information!

Thanks for all the work you're doing to expand care in your communities.

    Hi John,

This is an amazing resource! We are a shelter/foster/adoption agency that piloted a s/n wellness clinic last year, and immediately found that our (limited) appointments were filling up within an hour of being announced, and we're in the midst of a campaign to outfit another area in our facility as a second (and a second and a half) surgery/clinic space.  Funding is definitely coming in stages, and truthfully, we've had some issues with equipment prices changing since we first budgeted the project last summer. I'm sharing this opportunity with our team right now!
