As someone who is a survivor of 4 strokes I have learned not to look too far down the road. We have applied for grants - have 10 out right now. But we are out of the box and aren't often considered. Some how we did about $750,000 of in-kind goods and services to all 15 counties of Arizona- on just over $16,000 last year. We almost made it through summer this year. It is challenging not to say " darn it, we havent had any large disasters in Arizona this summer", (and a fund raiser we have been a part of four four years didn't happen - to late to do anything else). to generate our usual revenue to carry us through.
So I am preparing to use our last dollars for gas to go Show Low with a truck full of donated items for homeless/near homeless Veterans of that low income county with volunteers from there. Then I will come back, hoping that my efforts to ask for $200 on line, so that I can do the same thing again going to Sierra vista , yet another low income county,. the following weekend.
So I would say - We'd be able to accomplish our goal of service to pets/service dogs and their owners to keep them in their home, if only we had faith the size of a mustard seed. We do every bit we can - we let the rest go.(and keep those eyes and feet moving forward)!
I say this to all of you, I hope you hear.! There is not one person on this list that isn't doing every thing you can do. You cant dwell on what isn't being done -you will drown with grief. I just got off the hone with a lady who has cancer that her kinds are stealing her food. I had answers - from my bed, barely able to move. Let it be enough that you make a difference because if will never be enough time, money, effort , resources... It matters that you try. If the guy upstairs wants something different, he will help!
Now that is a good answer- We are able to accomplish our goal of moving forward, if we had each other to learn on!
