    Posted 09-03-2018 12:28 AM

A foreign friend of mine has to return to his home country permanently to take over his family business, so he decided to leave his cat with me. I love cats, but the last time I ever had one as a pet was when I was about 17 years old. I don’t remember much, since I had to move out of town for college when I turned 18 and left Rocco with my parents. My new cat Spunky, has been vomiting a lot lately, despite having normal appetite and temperature. What’s wrong with him? Immediately after eating, he vomits, but looks and acts fine after. I’m feeding him Blue Buffalo protein grain-free natural cat food for adult cats. It’s the one my friend has been feeding him ever since he got older.

Of course a good veterinary check up would be a good place to start, but my guess would be hairballs.  As they groom themselves, hair can accumulate in the stomach causing irritation when they eat.  Often they vomit freshly eaten food because of that irritation.  Sometimes the hair comes up with the food, sometimes not.  I would try Cat Lax or other hairball medication to see if this solves the problem.  Then start brushing the cat regularly to get rid of some of the excess hair.  Check for fleas/lice/skin issues carefully, since they can cause more grooming, and hence more ingestion of hair, leading to more hairball issues.

Hand over analyzes. Because there are a lot of reasons for vomiting, which in your case with 100% certainty cannot be determined. So you need to go to the vet. You also reed lots of useful tips for cat owners at AllPetsExpert.com.
