Hi,
I just saw the instructions to introduce myself.
I'm Holly from St. Charles, MO, west of St. Louis.
I'm a retired surgeon, who started my working life at 15.5, working for a vet. I retired early to raise kids but our family has fostered dogs for 20 years. I've done just about every job related to animal rescue. My favorite breed is Leonbergers, which is how I got started in rescue. Some friends from our breed club rescued 22 being dumped from a puppy mill. I fostered 5 of them and was HOOKED! LOL My specialty is medical cases and I love to rehab feral and terrified dogs. I've debated on returning to school for the Tuft's Veterinary School's Master in Animals and Public Policy. Then, running large shelter and making it No Kill.....Miami-Dade comes to mind...
If I could be an animal, I think I'd be a Kinkajou. Climbing trees, being nocturnal, and eating lots of fruit suits me well. Having a prehensile tail would be super nifty. Costa Rica in the jungle sounds so much better than freezing my butt all Winter in Missouri!
