I'm a first-time foster and I've had my foster dog for about a week. I just got my first email inquiry for him! What kinds of information do you send people? Anyone have an example email they send that they'd be willing to share? Thanks in advance!

I'm a cat foster so there may be other topics dog fosters touch on but I go over the age, gender and personality of the cat. I share my environment - adults, no children, no dogs, 2 personal cats - to give them an idea of what animal has been exposed to. I share what I have observed and what I think she needs in a forever home, acknowledging that new environments can bring out new behaviors (good & bad). I share anything I would want to know as a potential adopter. I also share what I love about the animal. I also ask about their situation. My goal is not just to find someone willing to adopt the animal but a good match in a great home that will last forever. I encourage them to meet the animal and offer to meet them. I probably overshare but have gotten good feedback from adopters who say they appreciate my detail as it gives them a good sense of the animals personality.
