Which groups are offering Venmo as an option to donate? We've always been geared toward PayPal, and we use Square at events, but we're trying to widen our reach. I just pulled up Best Friends' website, but didn't seen any Venmo option.

I can't say that I've heard of any organizations using Venmo.

We just use PayPal as well. Interested to see if anyone uses Venmo instead, and why :)

I know a rescuer in Puerto Rico that uses Venmo and actually seems to prefer it.

I don’t think organizations can use Venmo as it is set up for person to person. We looked a while ago and they didn’t have a nonprofit option available.

I was just looking @ Venmo the other day but you cannot take payments on it unless you open a business account--so I didn't look further. We've used largely PayPal on our FB page to raise pledges--seems pretty universal although some peeps still send checks.

It doesn't appear nonprofits are really able to use Venmo ... yet. I found this in the Venmo Help site, so it seems they are planning on expansion to nonprofits:

Our nonprofit account program is currently in private beta, and we are no longer accepting applications from nonprofits to facilitate the collection of donations.

For what it's worth, we use PayPal for one-time and sustaining giving, in addition to the traditional payments.
