Does a cats stomach ever stop being sensitive after they have worms? I adopted Dragonfly a 10 year old cat 2 months ago,and he was left at the shelter a month before i got him, he had alot of 4 day hold exams with treatments of strongid 2x, praziquantel, and nemex. Also skin issues treated with dexamethasone and convenia. I have him on advantage multi and switched his food to purina one all natural grain free, which has helped, but alot of treats i've tried upset his stomach. For example i grew him some cat grass which he loved, but results in him throwing up. Any advice is welcome.

I had adopted a senior cat who had terrible digestive problems,  was always hungry but food passed right through him.  I thought it would be a hospice situation.  but I  took him to my vet who immediately said a lot of cats (possibly dogs as well) develop sensitivities/allergies to chicken,  which are basis of many foods and treats.  He switched him to prescription venison based food (simple formula with just venison and pees) .  Within a couple of days stomach improved,  slowly weight gained and  fur grew back.   after 6 months to a year I was able to try a few other things on a limited basis (beef, fish based)  but no chicken or poultry.

Might discuss this with your vet.  I was also able to feed slightly less expensive Instinct brand venison (97%) with success which he liked better than canned prescription venison which was quite dry.  Ironically he liked the dry prescription food with venison (DD?).

Good luck and thanks for adopting older gent,

Thank you, I will give that a try. The vet said he might have a skin allergy, but i never thought of chicken as a food allergy. all i know about his life before going to the shelter is his vaccination records, I think the poor baby had every worm they can get, i was starting to think the scratching until he creates a wound was a habbit.
