It's normal for a 5–6 week old kitten to have a sore bottom, especially if she's had diarrhea after being separated from her mom or after deworming. You can help by gently cleaning her bottom with a warm, damp cloth after each bowel movement and keeping the area dry. A small amount of plain petroleum jelly or a kitten-safe barrier cream can protect her skin. Make sure she stays hydrated and eats soft, easy-to-digest food.

Subject: A sore bottom
I have a 5-6 week old kitten I found her crying separated from her mom. She has been seen and dewormed. It is expected she have diarrhea but her little bottom is sore. Is there anything I can do to help her with the soreness? We have been to the dr but her bottom just started hurting that I could tell last night. Thank you.
