    Hi Everyone,

We have been getting an influx on some pretty tough animals lately and my manager and I want to create a flow chart on how to decide if an animal should come into our adoption program or not. Does anyone have some ideas on how to do this? or if they already have something? or really any thoughts would be appreciated

    Thank you!!

We have an “Adoptability Criteria” document that helps guide any hard potential intakes. If a behavior falls outside, all managers must be in the same page for that animals intake. It helps narrow the decisions from all tough behaviors to just a few.

I would be interested in it as well. If you don't mind, could you send it to ashlbeh@tohmail.org

I'd like to see the critera form as well. I'm a volunteer in a shelter.  I'm asked to work with dogs that have behavior challenges.  Having something to check off would be helpful.  Thanks michelle.boswell@comcast.net

We had a behaviorist come in and design an assessment, but it also depends on the capabilities of your team. Before that the simpler version of the rule was "if the intake staff can't perform a blood draw on them, we can't take them."
