I have rescued an adorable cat, not quite 2 yrs old. My present cat is not happy about this and he is upset by her presence. How can I help him accept her? He is 12, and just recently lost the cat he's grown up with. He's never been the only cat in the house, and he's been depressed for months. I thought another cat might bring him around and boost his spirits. My rescue cat has been with us for five days and is just warming up to us now but my other cat is not happy. I'm looking for suggestions on how I can help him get through this.

It's only 5 days, they don't adapt right away so don't worry about it. Let them bathe in a cat shampoo, eat the same cat food, and play with cat toys together. I think it will be fine with just a little time. Good Luck
