How transparent are you on your website? Do you post financials as well as animal numbers? I would love you to share your website if you can. We are a private non-profit with no government contract and are looking for the same. Thank you!

We post the public inspection copy of our 990 tax return and an annual report that does include animal numbers.  We are considering how to include more informaton but we are part of the Shelter Animal Counts and the Best Friends Dashboard so people can see our "save" rate on that website. We are also on Guidestar with financial information.  Our website is www.animal-lifeline.com

I did notice that as a visitor, I can only see the GuideStar information once before GuideStar wants me to create an account though.

If you haven't already, be sure to claim your profile at guidestar.org . Their process walks you through a lot of information in a logical flow that demonstrates transparency. With each level, you earn seals that can be displayed on your own site and the graphic links back to your guidestar profile. That way, anyone who is particularly interested in that information and level of detail can see it all in one place and in a consistent format.
