I received one of the best texts from my nephew yesterday, he got a kitten!!

He's never owned a pet before (he's 22) and got little Luna from a coworker. Luna is part of the Momma cat's second litter and is about 7 weeks old. I'd love to give him AS MANY helpful resources he needs to be a successful cat daddy as possible!

First things first is a vet visit for shots but he's mostly curious about what food he should be feeding her until that visit.

Any information or links you can share about caring for a kitten that I can pass along to him would be greatly appreciated!

    Luna! So cute.

I leave out Purina Kitten Chow for my foster kittens at all times. They eat wet food 3-4 times a day, sometimes more if they are asking for it. Since they are kittens and growing, I don't worry about overfeeding them.

Be sure to play with your kitten a lot and have lots of toys out for her. Invite your friends over for a kitten party, too. Getting her used to lots of different people will help her with socialization. If you think she'd bored, you can always get her a friend. :) Scratching is completely normal, so be sure to have a vertical and horizontal option for her.

You can also keep her carrier out in the house so she gets used to being in it, so hopefully when it comes time to go to the vet, it won't be struggle city to get her in. You can leave treats in there, or even feed her meals there.
