  • 1.  Study on barn cat acclimation?

Does anyone know of any study or evidence related to how long we should be acclimating barn cats in their new surroundings? I feel like the general consensus is 2-4 weeks, but does anyone have any data that 2 weeks is worse than 4 weeks? Thanks for your input!

I think the longer you can, the better! Absolutely.

As far as I'm aware, there is no published scientific evidence on this issue.  However, someone from Austin Pets Alive gave a presentation on this topic two years ago at the HSUS Expo.  They had found that a certain number of weeks was best, and that most cats stayed at their new location after that time.  I forget the details or who presented, but I'd reach out to APA: https://www.austinpetsalive.org/programs/barn-cat-program
