i just brought home a new puppy I’ve had my cats for about a month now they are kittens they were around dogs before I got them. But the have just hissed and hid the whole night I’m unsure what to do how long I should wait before possibly having to bring the new adoptive puppy back he has no problem with them(the cats) I’m unsure what to do. I’m trying not to stress out because they will pick up on that.

Dear, please, please calm down and be patient. It is not at all surprising that the cats/kittens are afraid. They don't know the pup and they do feel your panic. Breathe and stop panicking. A whole nice is not a long time. This adjustment might take a month or more. Let the cats and pup smell each other under a closed door. Get one of the those baby gates and let them look at each other after a week of smelling under the closed door. Alternate nights when you sleep with the cats and then the puppy. You can't rush this.

I meant to say "a whole NIGHT",  not a whole nice. Sorry.

Best Friends has some great info on introducing cats and dogs. It sounds like your cats may need a slow introduction: https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/how-introduce-dog-cat
