  • 1.  Should I adopt another kitten?

hi recently adopted a 2 month old kitten a month ago he’s now 3 months old and I’ve noticed he’s very playful and I do play with him but I feel as if I’m not enough the loves my dogs but i have a small dog and im sure he’s just being playful but he jumps on her and wants to play but she doesn’t want to play with him and she’s is now becoming scared of him. My question is I have been considering adopting a second kitten the same age as him but I want to make sure I’m making the right decision on adopting a second kitten he seems pretty settled down and happy, but seems to always cry when left alone in the house. Can someone please help me if I should adopt or not?

My group always recommends adopting two kittens from the same litter so they can play and cuddle. Another kitten is a good idea. If you do adopt another one, ask the rescue group for advice on how to introduce them. For example you may want to keep the new kitten in a separate room with her food and litter box for several days. They can smell each other through bottom of the door. Another tip:’Rub the new kitten with a cloth and give it to your kitten so he can get used to the new one’s scent. Rub your guy with a cloth and give it to tje new one. Finally, it’s usually a good idea to have a male and a female rather than 2 cats of the same gender.

Go for it, but don’t get alarmed if there’s some hissing at first. It may take a week or two for them to get used to each other.

Also go back to the rescue group you adopted your kitten from.  Hopefully they observed  her/hom play and might be able to recommend a kitten who might make a good playmate.  Good luck
