    Who has all staff meetings?

If so, how often, and what do you discuss with all staff?

We have about 30-40 people for an all staff meeting.

    Thank you,

We do a monthly All Staff meeting. All of our animal care staff come in that morning so we can finish cleaning, feeding, and walking the pets early. Then we meet for 90 minutes before we open to the public. We typically follow this format:

    1. Introductions (especially if we have new staff)
    2. "Kudos" where anyone can thank or praise another staff member they noticed doing an amazing job lately.
    3. Any building or maintenance updates (right now, we are fundraising for a new roof, so we talk a lot about that job status and where the fundraiser is at and our expected timeline).
    4. Some focus activity - we have had a therapist come in to talk about Compassion Fatigue, a bank to talk about setting up 401(k)s, a dog trainer to go over some specific training items... we've also spent that time dividing into groups to deep clean rooms we rarely get to (storage), walk through rooms and note any maintenance stuff (chipped paint, really bad vents) or brainstorm ideas for various things like fundraising or budgeting.

We do Quarterly All-Staff Meetings. We typically aim to do it on a day that we are closed to the public, or on a day where we open later, so that our animal care staff don't need to rush to attend. We also follow a format similar to Erin's!

    1. Introductions of new staff to everyone, we recognize any staff who have celebrated a work anniversary recently too.
    2.  We typically have a presentation that goes over a certain topic or the past quarter's stats (our last meeting we proudly announced that we had a 100% LRR for our dogs, which hadn't happened in quite a few years).
    3. We'll mention any new and upcoming events that might impact workload for everyone.
    4. Food! We tend to get our employees pizza/salad/ drinks to enjoy during the meeting as well too.

At these staff meetings, we sometimes also give out the new staff shirt for employees as well too.

As a sidenote Brielle, I adopted my dog as a puppy from Mary S Roberts back in 2017 before I moved out to Colorado! Best doggo ever! :)

We do quarterly all staff meetings.  We bring in extra volunteers that day to assist with feeding/cleaning so the animal care team isn't in a panic.  The format can vary a little but for the most part it's about the same.  We start with introductions and then managers/supervisors will give an update of their area if there is anything new happening.  We generally have some sort of ice breaker or game.  We will also discuss any overall shelter updates and give staff shout outs.  Our last meeting everyone brought food and we all had lunch together.

We have monthly meetings. We have around 50 people typically. On All Staff meeting day we open a little later in the day and those hours are posted on the website and our front door.  Our typiucal agneda is:

    1) New Staff Introductions

    2) Staff Kudos

    3) Update on things going on with the County. This month it was budget approval.

    4) Presentation on pertinent topics, this month it was hyperthermia signs and treatment in animals, kennel cough and an update on our policy and strategic plan project.

    Hey!

We have about 30-35 people who attend our monthly all staff meetings.

We do it on our least busy day and we close at 330pm instead of 6pm. The meeting runs from 4-6pm.

We do new staff intros, Raving Fans recognition (kudos), department updates, changes becoming effective within our organization, a beyond the shelter web series (our manager contacts someone who adopted a "trouble" dog over a year ago and does an interview with them about the dog and why they choose them and how it's been going, etc, and then we do some form of training whether its staff teaching staff or we have an outsider come in to teach us about; compassion fatigue, wildlife and rehabbing, etc.

Once a quarter for the meeting we go somewhere fun off site to do a much shorter meeting and mostly try to bond. We've gone to the movies, played at Chicken N Pickle, Main Event, made up our own version of jeopardy and rented a room and played that.

Our facility has meetings for each individual section (admin, adoptions, clinic) once a week and an all-staff meeting once a month.

Our all-staff meeting is 60 minutes long and it takes place after cleaning and before we open to the public. We have around 50 staff members and we all grab a raffle ticket on our way into the education center, where the meeting takes place. Then the meeting typically goes as follows:

    1. Enter the room and take a seat on one side or another depending on their answer to our separation question (this week was "Do you like ice cream or snowcones more?"
    2. We provide Costco muffins, people grab one and take their seat
    3. Icebreaker question for getting to know the people next to you more. Ex:  Where is your favorite local hangout spot in Summer?
    4. Department updates and introductions of any new staff/interns:
      1. adoptions
      2. clinic
      3. intake
      4. foster
      5. fundraising
      6. events
      7. volunteer
    5. We announce birthdays and work anniversaries for the month
    6. Our HR department head goes over an important topic. Ex: Drinking enough water in Summer months and making sure to regularly check our animals have full water
    7. Vet topic
    8. Other announcements
    9. Raffle pull with 3 winners winning merchandise for our shelter, a gift card, or an hour of PTO.

We also do monthly all-staff meetings that I miss almost 100% of them because they're on my day off!  We also have morning meetings to give updates on current issues and basic need-to-know stuff.  I wanted to mention those because one of my coworkers started a thing about a year or so ago that she ends all of these morning meetings with a bit of positive information.  Most of the time, it's about some of the big adoptions that we had but she also gives us post-adoption updates  and if she's learned something very cool about the natural world, she'll give us that information.

I just wanted to mention that positive news thing because it really is a nice thing to do-start off the work day with some happy, positive information.
