  • 1.  Anyone ever ask people getting free spay/neuter a through your rescue to volunteer to promote payback?

    After providing Free spay/neuter a to 13 people in February, I was considering sending out an email to those folks mentioning that we would love any of them to consider volunteering for our rescue.  Definitely said this is not required or expected but offered them an opportunity to give back.   It turned out more people were interested than we thought.  Just an idea for others looking for ways to get volunteers.   If anyone has other creative ideas, I am all ears.

    This was sent via fb messenger to all of the people who participated in the FREE spay/neuter clinic that our rescue coordinated with the help of many sponsors.


    Novastar Rescue is continually looking for volunteers to assist with chores around the rescue.   Do you have a couple hours or a day that you would be interested in giving back for the free spay/neuter you received in the clinic that Novastar arranged in conjunction with our sponsors?   Novastar in no way EXPECTS you to pay back but we are offering you an opportunity to see more of what our rescue does.

    We have. The response was not encouraging. Once the crisis was over we never see them again until they need something

    Well we will try.  Not hoping for alot but maybe a few!   Two out of 10 responded so that doesn't give me lots of hope.  But worth a try

    I think it's definitely worth trying! The more community members who help, the better.  Maybe the rest will respond later, maybe the two who did respond know others who want to help. Maybe they can't help today or even later this year, but being a presence in your community and both offering and receiving help is a great first step.  I would celebrate those two out of ten!!!

    We are a fairly new organization and at the time I asked for them to just go and leave a review on our social media page or our web page.  That this would help boost the age and more people would see it.  Needless to say we still have no reviews.  I believe I will try again and offer the opportunity to volunteer., I have high hopes
