  • 1.  Backing up Google Drive

    Posted 05-24-2024 08:42 AM

We started a non-profit in January of this year.  The two co-founders (me and another person) are running the operations of the organization in a volunteer capacity and have set up our files on Google Drive.  We do not have an office as we are running a pet pantry and a spay/neuter program through local vets -- a centralized office is not necessary.  This is the first time I have used Google Drive as for my full time job I use microsoft with a server, etc.   Is there a way to backup Google Drive?  I'm concerned that we have everything on the Drive.

    Hi Karen,

I'm not a tech expert, but you can backup google drive by downloading the files to an external hard drive or your desktop.

I haven't used it in a while, but i'm pretty sure you can also  use google drive for desktop and sync G drive with your computer, and then back them up when you backup your computer.

Google drive is cloud based so it's nearly failproof. What I do for extra peace of mind is add stuff to Google drive but keep my files locally as well on my laptop. I have a paid subscription to Microsoft one and have it set to backup all my files to a separate server daily. So I know no matter what, I can find my files
