Best Way to Approach a Veterinarian for Connection and Collaboration

    Hi everyone! 💛

I'm looking to build a genuine, professional relationship with a local veterinarian and would love your advice. As someone running a community-centered, equine-assisted wellness program, I know how important it is to have trusted professionals in our circle-not just for the horses' health, but also as potential allies in our broader mission of healing and connection.

For those of you who have reached out to vets before, I'd love to know:

    • How did you introduce yourself and your program?

    • What kind of questions did you ask to feel out alignment or shared values?

    • What's reasonable to expect from a vet when first forming this connection-casual support, referrals, emergency care, sponsorship, or something else?

    • Are there any "do's and don'ts" that helped you keep the tone friendly and professional without putting pressure on them?

My goal isn't to ask for free services, but rather to explore whether there's room for mutual support-perhaps collaborating on educational content, cross-referrals, or even just having someone to call when I need trustworthy care for my horses.

If you've had good (or not-so-good) experiences with this, I'd be so grateful for your insights!

Thanks in advance for helping me Discover Healing, Connection, and Renewal through Horses-with a little help from our animal-loving neighbors. 🐴✨

    Warmly,
    Diana
