Have you tried contacting local car dealerships or other businesses who will spotlight a pet of the week, or offer to give the new owner and your organization a gift certificate to a local pet supply company?  Pets who are individually shared with the community get more exposure and can help to find new homes, one pet at a time!

Hi Tammy!

Here are some things our pound has done which seems to have helped:

• "Pound pup of the month" (or some  type of alliteration with your organization name to grab attention) with consistent, colorful, dog front and center flyer layout to keep the community interested in "Who will be the pound pup this month?" (see examples attached)
• Videos highlighting the dogs and different aspects to their personalities with music ("dodo style" videos) - these seem to attract people to engage with who the dogs are! Videos on our FB page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100078129237478
• Local news "pet of the week" or "dog walking forecast" - ask them to feature a dog for these segments (haven't done this yet ourselves, but have it on our "to do"!
• Asking local pizza places to handout flyers ("pound pup of the month") on their pizza boxes 
• putting "adopt me" bandanas on and walking dogs around town during busy times (farmers market, etc)
